Part of the dichotomous release series, 'Yet Maple' is the counterpart to 'For a Portrait of Evenings'.
This album is focused on the concept of the creation of concise, sharp ambient drone-type music, diverging from the themes presented in 'Adrift, Absent'. Influenced in part by the aliased roughness of glitch and the powerful evocativeness of noise, combined with the smoothness of droning pad-play, this album seeks to balance delicately on the cusp of harshness on one hand and restraint on the other, all packaged into relatively short time periods to subvert the dronistic tendency to draw a sound out as long as possible.
This album is a culmination of influences that I hope comes off as coherent and possibly even likable, but of course that comes down to you, the listener.
On that note, I hope you enjoy the music! Make sure to check out 'For a Portrait of Evenings', as well as all the other Opensoulsurgery releases, if you haven't delved yet :)
